Born in 1985 in Ukraine (Kiev), where she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Dasha Kandinsky worked there as an assistant professor.

She comes from a family of artists and is often inspired by the work of her late father Anton S. Kandinsky (a descendant of the famous Wassily Kandinsky).

Her works deal with topics such as consumerism, social boundaries and the general idea that “our skulls are our cage”. Kandinsky does not seek inspiration in beauty and considers it empty and barren. She believes that the distortion of reality often reveals its true nature.

Her works can be found in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, USA, Germany, France, Monaco, China, Switzerland, Israel, as well as in the collection of the Kolodziej Art Foundation, the Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine (Kiev) and the Museum of Russian Art MORA (USA).

“A work of art should be syncretic. It is only perfect if there is a lack of both myth (non-verbal philosophy) and aesthetics,” says Kandinsky.
