Maxim Fomenko focuses on the human body, its corporeality, defenselessness and sensual power, inspired by the work of such artists as Francis Bacon and Pablo Picasso. 

“I work mainly in series, because only in series I can develop some topics that are important to me. For example: famous artists from the past or contemporary. I’m talking about my “No Face” series, in which I painted famous artists, as the name suggests, without a face. 

The series is the answer to our times, in which everything is reduced and simplified. By using abbreviations in the news, we save time while maintaining the sense of the message, the same principle I apply in this series. I skip faces because the viewer no longer needs them to recognize a person.”
